Malaysia's top men's doubles shuttlers Tan Boon Heong & Koo Kien Keat LOST TO Korean 5th seed Ko Sung Hyun & Yoo Yeon Seong in the quarter final. The 4th seed ended up the 5th match with Korean pair with 17-21, 13-21 in 39 minutes, recording all loss.

The 2nd seed of the this championship Mathias Boe & Carsten Mogensen of Denmark LOST TO 7th-seeded Mohammad Ahsan & Bona Septano of Indonesia 18-21, 21-18, 22-24 in 1-hour-and-9-minute game of quarter final.

China's 1st-seeded Wang Shixian LOST TO 7th seed Cheng Shao Chieh of Chinese Taipei 21-16, 21-17 in 49 minutes.

After beating 2nd seed Cheng Wen Tsing & Chien Yu Chin of Chinese Taipei 21-18, 21-18 in the second round, 11th-seeded Poon Lok Yan & Tse Ying Suet 19-21, 21-17, 21-19 in the third round, the unseeded Indian pairs Jwala Gupta & Ashwini Ponnappa continued their legendary journey by making revearsal in the 2nd and 3rd games of quarter final, WINNING the 12th seed Vita Marissa & Nadya Melati of Indonesia 17-21, 21-10, 21-17 in 47 minutes.

1st seed Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia knocked out Kevin Cordon of Guatemala 21-7, 21-14 in 24-minute game.

After playing hard to win Ajay Jayaram of India 18-21, 21-12, 21-11 in round 3, China's 6th-seeded Chen Jin beated Hans-Kristian Vittinghus of Denmark 21-17, 21-13 in 53 minutes.

After beating the Simon Santoso 21-18, 14-21, 21-14 in round 3, the 3rd seed Peter Gade of Denmark won 7th-seeded Nguyen Tien Minh of Vietnam 17-21, 21-19, 21-13 in 1 hour and 22 minutes.

The 11th-seeded Sasaki Sho of Japan who had disappointed the 8th seed Du Pengyu of China 10-21, 24-22, 21-10 in round 3, was defeated by China's Lin Dan the 2nd-seeded shuttler 14-21, 16-21 in 46 minutes.

China's 1st seed Fu Haifeng & Cai Yun disappointed the 16th-seeded Mads Conrad-Petersen & Jonas Rasmussen of Denmark 21-10, 21-13 in 36 minutes and entered semi final easily.

Korean 3rd seed Lee Yong Dae & Jung Jae Sung beated China's unseeded Hong Wei & Shen Ye 21-12, 26-24 in 42 minutes.

China's 3rd-seeded Wang Xin won India's 6th seed Saina Nehwal 21-15, 21-10 in 30 minutes.

6th seed Xu Chen & Ma Jin of China won Chayut Triyachart & Yao Lei of Singapore 21-16, 21-7 in 36 minutes.

(Men's Singles)
Singapore's Derek Wong, world-ranked 49, who had scored a comfortable 21-17, 21-14 victory over former champion Taufik Hidayat of Indonesia, the number 4 seed in the round of 32(second round), lost to Denmark's Hans-Kristian Vittinghus 16-21, 10-21 in round 3.

A silver medallist in the 2003 World Championships in Birmingham, which is still the best achievement by a Malaysian men's singles player, Wong Choong Hann who has beated the Taiwanese Hsieh Yu Hsing 21-7, 21-9 in the first round, finished his 7th world championship game by losing to Thailand's Boonsak Ponsana 13-21, 18-21 in the round of 32.

World number 1 Malaysia's Lee Chong Wei was in supremely brilliant form in a 21-11, 21-5 victory over Park Sung-Hwan, the 9th-seeded Korean and entering quarter final.

Olympic champion China's Lin Dan worked hard to win 21-16, 21-13 against Lee Hyun-Il, the 12th seeded Korean, entering quarter final.

Malaysia's men's doubles shuttlers Mohd Zakry Abdul Latif & Hoon Thien How 24-26, 19-21 defeated to 10th seeds Fang Chieh-min & Lee Sheng-mu of Taiwan in the second round.

The 4th seeds Koo Kien Keat & Tan Boon Heong were taken to the distance by China’s lowest ranked pair of Liu Xiaolong-Qui Zihan before prevailing 21-6, 20-22, 21-15.

China's 1st seed Fu Haifeng & Cai Yun played hard 21-17, 15-21, 21-14 in the round 3 to win Japanese shuttlers Kawamae Naoki & Sato Shoji, the 12th seed and later chinese doubles will meet Denmark's Mads Conrad Petersen & Jonas Rasmussen, the 16th seed in the quarter final.
The Danish shuttlers have previously won the 8th seed Alvent Yulianto Chandra & Hendra Aprida Gunawan of Indonesia 22-20, 13-21, 21-18 in third round.

The First Upset on 8th August

China's youngest new hope for the world men's singles title, Chen Long, suffered a sensational opening day setback against an outsider in the first round of the world championships at Wembley Arena on 8th.
The world-ranked-36 Kevin Cordon from Guatemala grabbed the spotlight on day one with a shock win over 5th seeded Chinese Chen Long. He finally clinched a first round victory on his fourth match point 21-19, 8-21, 27-25 at the end of a 74-minute clash.

Another upset is when the 15th seeded Japanese player Kenichi Tago was defeated to world number 34's Ajay Jayaram from India with straight sets 21-12, 21-19.
Tago's most recent match against his potential 3^rd round opponent was a victory over Chen Jin in his run the 2010 All England final. His heroics in the 2010 All England proved he could play with the best in the world, his impressive wins over Zweibler and Santoso in the Sudirman was a reminder just a few months ago that he is a player not to be taken likely.

(Men's Singles)
The current world number 1 Lee Chong Wei's bid to become Malaysia's first world badminton champion got off to a winning start with a 21-15, 21-17 victory win the 31st-ranked Thailand's Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk.
Taufik Hidayat, the former world champion from Indonesia, made a languorously brilliant start in a 21-10, 21-14 win over Rodrigo Pachero Carrilo, a hard-working world number 61 from Peru.
World titleholder Chen Jin from China, seeded 6, raced past Estonia's Raul Must 21-8, 21-10.

The world number 25 Malaysia’s Men’s Doubles shuttler Hoon Thien How & Mohd Zakry Abdul Latif beated 2005 world champions Tony Gunawan & Howard Bach of the United States with straight games 21-17, 21-14.
Another Malaysian pair Chan Peng Soon & Lim Khim Wah lost to Polish Adam Cwalina & Michal Logosz 13-21, 19-21.
Anthony Clark & Chris Langridge gave the English crowd reason to cheer when they beat the Japanese pair of Yoshiteru Hirobe & Kenta Kazuno in two straight games this evening, 21-15, 21-17.

(Women's Doubles)
Malaysian Women's doubles shuttler Ng Hui Lin & Ng Hui Ern started their first world championship nicely by successfully making a reversal in the second game which once lagged at 19-20, finally beating Ukrainians Anna Kobtsevan & Elena Prus 21-14, 22-20 in 27 minutes in the first round.
Malaysia's former number 1 Chin Eei Hui & Wong Pei Tty beated the host players Jenny Wallwork & Gabrielle White 21-14, 21-12.

(Mixed Doubles)
The mixed doubles shuttler of Malaysia Chan Peng Soon & Goh Liu Ying made winning over the Mexican mixed pair Lino Munoz & Cynthia Gonzalez 21-9, 21-5.

• The umpire shall uphold and enforce the laws of badminton and final decision of the match.
• All sport equipments except shuttlecock should be prepared by players.
• Match and game is a best-of-three format.
• Players are selected by the team itself to play for respective team in every single match.
• Entry fee is RM 50 per team.
• Registration is open until 14th of March.
